Job Summary
The Project Accountant Head leads the financial management of construction projects by overseeing project budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, subcontractor payments, cash flow management, and compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, IFRS, and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the project accounting team.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow.
- Review subcontractor and supplier payment certificates.
- Prepare project financial and cost reports.
- Monitor project profitability, work-in-progress (WIP), retention, and contract variations.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Finance.
- Support internal and external audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or ACCA/CPA is an advantage).
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a senior project accounting role within a construction or engineering company.
