Job Summary
BESYS Technologies PLC is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead the company’s financial management and planning functions. The role is critical in ensuring financial sustainability, effective financial control, and strategic decision-making in a technology-driven and project-based business environment.
The Finance Director will oversee financial planning, project financial management, banking relationships, and regulatory compliance while providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the overall financial strategy, planning, and management of the company.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
- Gives directives to budget centers for the preparation of their budget; collects, compiles and presents corporate budget for approval; distributes approved budget to budget centers.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow planning.
- Provide financial oversight for project-based contracts, including cost monitoring, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
- Handle banking matters, including loans, credit facilities, and other financial arrangements.
- Build and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Monitor financial performance of ongoing technology and infrastructure projects and advise management on financial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial laws, and audit requirements.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business growth, investment decisions, and new technology initiatives.
- Ensures that the Company’s financial transactions are properly recorded and that records are kept up-dated.
- Prepare and present financial reports Monthly, Quarterly ,semiannually and Annually to top management and stakeholders.
- Designs and implements cash reporting and accounting systems and revises same when necessary.
- Make sure that the implemented Quick book system is running properly
- Produce financial reports in line to IFRS updated Modules and ensure continuous updating
- Reports annually financial report prepared by IFRS to AABE(Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia)
- Float Bid to Invite External Auditors every 3 years and present for approval to BOD the bid result.
- Make sure that taxes are paid to revenue authority on Monthly, Quarterly (Profit Tax) and annually (Profit Tax)
- Lead, supervise, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Performs such other related duties as required.
About You
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience, with at least 6 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Experience in project-based businesses, ICT companies, or technology firms is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, banking operations, loan management, and financial analysis.
