Job Summary

The primary role is to coordinate the staff within the department and oversee the coffee roasting, grinding, and processing procedures to ensure they are carried out efficiently and in accordance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Roasting Process Oversight: Ensuring coffee roasting machines are operating at the correct temperatures and durations.
  • Quality Consistency: Monitoring quality based on the specific roast profile (Light, Medium, Dark roast).
  • Production Planning: Preparing roasting and packaging schedules based on daily or weekly work orders.
  • Quality Assurance: Sampling the roasted coffee to check for consistent color, aroma, and flavor (providing cupping support).
  • Staff Management: Training personnel working on machinery, creating work schedules, and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance Monitoring: Tracking the regular maintenance of roasting and grinding machines and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Inventory Management: Recording stocks of green (unroasted) and roasted coffee to ensure essential production inputs do not run out.

About You

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of coffee characteristics and the operation of coffee roasting machinery.
  • Leadership Ability: Proven ability to coordinate teams, solve problems, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Data Management: Ability to organize production reports via computer or physical documentation.
  • Education and Experience: Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field, with relevant experience in coffee processing.
